Setting intentions

A new intention I have is to live my truth. In seeking to actually know what my truth is, and how to live it, this is the guidance I received.

Every day ask yourself “What do I want to do today?”. Start with that question as soon as you get up.

Living your truth is not a revelatory experience that will radically change you – it is a reawakening of your inner spirit, a slow re-shaping of your thoughts towards all things that subsequently results in a different way of interacting with all those around you, animate and inanimate.

So wake, set your intention for the day, then let it go. For you, right now, your intention is to live your truth. State that and let it go. Then ask yourself “What do I want to do right now?”. The answer won’t be written on a sign, it will be gentle voice, floating in when you least expect it, an idea, inspired by an old handwritten note, something you see in the corner of your eye. Importantly, when you receive the answer, honour it.

There will be some tasks that you have to do, and some of those you enjoy, like cooking, training, developing knowledge, exercise. There will be some tasks that you’ll still have to do that you may not enjoy as much. Amongst all of these, seek to do what you really want to do. As you live your truth, you will be be more efficient and productive in all activities.

Ask, not just in the morning, but throughout the day, “What do I want to do now?” You’ll find the space that you are in will clear; emotionally, physically, intellectually, spiritually. Everything will find its place as you hone within yourself the things you want and those you can let go of. Receiving the regular answers, and acting on them, will slowly shift every aspect of your being and allow you to fulfil your intention.

Start today, for the rest of the day, “What do I want to do?”. Then, when the answer floats in, do it.
